Revision

Hello America, I would like to address our nation today about the issues in this world that I am going to resolve when I am elected into office.  I believe that what I have to offer to this country with my business and government experience is one that no other can offer.  Out of college double majoring in political science and economics I landed myself a job on Wall Street.  Here I would only spend a few years because of the great interest that I had in our government.  I would work in the city government of Boston until I was appointed mayor.  This brings me to now.  In front of thousands of people discussing why I am the best candidate for the next president of the great country, the United States of America.
I want to discuss three major points that in my eyes this country needs to fix.  First our economy, second the war on terrorism and lastly the war on drugs.  To fix our economy I will use my knowledge from school.  I have also put a team together that is analyzing what is wrong with our economy and how we can fix this.  This isn’t going to favor a certain group of people; this is going to help everyone.  For the fight against terror I have already put a team together of people in our government that know a lot on the topic.  We are going to take the aggressive approach and weaken them till they are no longer a threat against us.  For the last topic, the war on drugs.  We are going to strengthen our boarders and crack down on the flow of drugs into the U.S.

So please America, vote for me I can assure you a better way of living.

Reflection

I feel that this speech went a lot better than the first major speech we were assigned a couple weeks back.  I feel that this one was a lot easier to write because of how much we have written over the past two months.  Presenting the speech was also easier than the first time.  I feel like this is because how much we have practiced speaking through debates.  The debates force you to act quickly when you are talking and they put you under pressure making a longer speech a lot easier.  I still feel that I have a lot to work on in the class.  I feel that I need to take the time to learn my speech.  Reading off paper or an Ipad is not too easy.  This being because you often lose your spot and it’s tough to find where you were.  This causes you to repeat yourself and stutter.  I feel that on my paper my speech was written very well.  It just lacked memory on my end that when presented it fell behind.  Learning my speeches is going to be my biggest goal for the rest of the semester.

The learning process thus far has been great.  I feel that public speaking is one of the easiest classes to see when you do things wrong.  I say this because you are constantly speaking aloud and you can hear what you do wrong and drill it into your mind that it needs to change.  I feel that you have done a good job telling us to stay away from the um’s and the ah’s.  I haven’t heard many of these lately.  I haven’t even heard these for fillers in speeches when kids lose their spot in their speech.  Watching the debates have also has helped me pick up on things that I should not do and that are annoying when speaking.  For example when Trump is always sniffling this is very unappealing to the viewer.  I feel that Hillary uses way too many hand motions this takes me away from what she is saying and makes it difficult for me to enjoy the debate.  I have also seen that interrupting someone during a debate is very rude and unappealing to the audience.  It makes you look like a bully and this would make the people of this country not want to vote for you.  I feel that I will continue to learn a lot more over the rest of the semester and by the end my speeches wont be able to compare to where they are today.  I feel that memorization will come a lot easier and I will be able to read my speeches off the top of my mind without having to look down at a piece of paper or my Ipad for help.

I am Pres Speech

Hello America, I would like to address our nation today about the issues in this world that I am going to resolve when I am elected into office.  I believe that what I have to offer to this country with my business and government experience is one that no other can offer.  Out of college double majoring in political science and economics I landed myself a job on Wall Street.  Here I would only spend a few years because of the great interest that I had in our government.  I would work in the city government of Boston until I was appointed mayor.  This brings me to now.  In front of thousands of people discussing why I am the best candidate for the next president of the great country, the United States of America.
I have a few major points that I want to discuss with our nation about what I am going to change and how it will better the country.  The main points that I want to focus on are boosting our economy protecting our country from terrorism and the war on drugs.  To boost our economy I will use my skills that I have learned over my college years and being in the field.  I have already put a team together, some of these men and women in the government and some that aren't.  They have been working hard together to find what is wrong with our economy and how we can fix it.  They found that our middle to upper class citizens are being taxed very high and they are losing a large amount of their yearly income.  So to fix this we are going to take away how much they are taxed and spread it to other areas.  We will also be lowering how much the lower class citizens are taxed a little.  Spreading the taxes to other areas won't be a burden on many people because now they will have more money to spend when they are purchasing something.  We will also lower the taxes on companies so they have more money to give out and offer more jobs.  This will help lower our unemployment rate and boost the economy.  For our people that are jobless and are struggling to make it we will help them get the need based education so they can find jobs.  We will be able to help them do this because with the economy on the rise we will have more money for our citizens.  I want whats best for our country and we are not going to stop till we are on the rise.
To help protect our country against terrorism and other threats we will take the necessary precautions to help fight off these threats.  I have already put a team together of people in our government that know a lot about the current situation and what is going on in our country.  We have set plans to stop the threat of ISIS.  We will take the aggressive route to this because it has been shown with President Obama that the conservative has not worked.  We are going to use airstrikes on our enemy to help take out a big part of their army.  We will also plan attacks on their leaders to weaken them.  To further weaken them we will attack the sub groups that they recruit from.  This will make it so they are not able to recruit any more.  Doing this will also lower the amount of people that they have and will make them a weaker force.  Once we have weakened them enough we are going to send it troops to finish off the job.  We want our citizens to live free and without fear so we are going to do whatever is necessary to do this.
To fix the drug crisis in this country I will further secure our southern boarders.  I will do this by applying more boarder control to monitor the boarders 24/7.  People are able to waltz into our country and not get caught.  This is unacceptable, it needs to be put to an end.  We can not afford to have illegal immigrants come into our country and bring in drugs and other illegal things such as guns and other weapons.  The amount of drug overdoses in our country is way to high being at 47,055.  If we are able to put a stop to the people bringing the drugs into our country we will be able to decrease this number by a lot.

So please the people of this great country vote for me as the next president of the United States of America.  I can assure you all that I will give everyone a better life.

Debate 3

I wanted to talk about the question "why is your immigration plan better than your opponents"?  I agreed with some of the stuff that Trump had to say about the drugs in this country.  I agree with him that we have to get the drugs out of our nation.  I feel that it is hurting us and ruining the country.  I believe that the flow from southern countries needs to be stopped and drug lords and our country need to be taken care of.  I feel that this can be done without implementing a huge wall.  I feel that if he goes about doing it the right way it can be done in a timely manner.

Writing assignment on debates

During the two debates there were many times that one of the presidential candidates, Trump or Clinton either completely won or either made a completely visible mistake.  These were not hard to see because of the inexperience of the two candidates.
A point where one of the candidates made a winning tactic was when Trump went at Clinton for not helping inner city people.  People who do not have it easy.  He did this using appeal to popularity.  He used something that would take of the people.  He appealed to the inner city people who need the help.  He took all of his time talking about what he was going to do for them and what Hillary could not do and what she hasn’t done for them.  Although he referred to the people incorrectly as them only being African American’s, Hispanics and Latinos he still talked about how he was going to help them.  Some people who listened to it were angered but he was still talking about how he was going to help them.  I believe that him talking about how he was going to help them was good for his campaign.  It was good in a sense to show that he is for all the people not only the middle and upper class.
When was a time where one of the candidates made a clear blunder?  I would say when Trump talked about Hillary’s husband Bill Clinton.  He talked about what he couldn’t do for the country and how she would be the same way.  He was going down a slippery slope.  He bashed his saying that he wasn’t a good president and he would be no help to Hillary.  Another time that he went down a slipper slope was when he was talking about Hillary and he 33,000 emails that were deleted.  He went on a good five-minute rant about how he believes that Hillary should be in jail for what she did.  I feel that the people watching the debate could get sick of this not wanting to here about this every time that he speaks.  I feel that the people want to hear about how he is going to help the country not why Hillary should be in jail.  Him talking about this throws him off track of what he should be talking about.  I feel that if he keeps ranting about this it won’t be good for his campaign.  I say this because I feel that people will lose interest and get annoyed in what he is saying because he just keeps rambling about Hillary and her husband and all the negatives about the two of them.  I believe that if Trump stays away from this it will be very good for his campaign and it can be something that he looks into when he is in office.
